11/02/2009 - ShopCity.com covered by local analysts

Via ShopCity.com

Since unveiling ShopCity.com to the world on October 17th, a number of prominent local media analysts have covered our launch, including Greg Sterling and Peter Krasilovsky.

In his post titled ShopCity Staunchly Focused on Mom & Pops, Greg really identified with the 'political' aspect of the project and our firm commitment to helping small businesses succeed in a world dominated by much larger and better-organized competitors. He wrote:

ShopCity is being smart by taking a “political” position on behalf of local businesses and may generate a lot of good will as a result.

Thanks Greg!  That's what we've found in our pilot cities, and as we turn up the volume a little on our core message of supporting local business, we look forward to generating great results for small businesses and garnering some goodwill that will really help us bring people together.

Peter's post, ShopCity Partners With Chambers of Commerce, Local Governments really focused on our desire to work with Chambers and Municipal Governments to help strengthen their local economies by providing the platform and branding that matches the messages they are already promoting in an attempt to keep dollars in the community.

This is a very important aspect of our model, especially in these challenging economic times where local governments and businesses need to come together to support each other and encourage community members to recirculate their money within the local area.

Shopping locally is the best way to build resilient economies and preserve local wealth and many communities, such as Fremont, California are actively doing their part to help local businesses and consumers come together.

The ShopCity.com platform was specifically developed to facilitate these programs and we look forward to partnering with forward-thinking communities to assist them in achieving their objectives.

Keep an eye out for more ShopCity.com news and press coverage and please contact us if you are interested in partnering or helping us to help your community.

Thanks for writing us up Greg, Peter and everyone else... We greatly appreciate your insight and the opportunity to connect with your audience.
